Meet Darelle Noel of Train To Perform in The Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darelle Noel.

Darelle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began training not thinking that I would make a career out of it or thinking that I would have the opportunity to work with elite level and professional athletes. I initially started training simply because growing up both of my parents wrestled with health battles dad (diabetes/congestive heart failure) mom (high blood pressure) and in 2011 I started a free workout class on the weekends in Houston, TX and the purpose of the class was to share, enlighten and educate individuals about the benefits of exercise and eating habits (nutrition). I held the class for about a year then something triggered me to change my major from Accounting to Exercise Science. That was a game changer, from there still I applied for an internship and a sports training facility called Athletes Performance now EXOS. I was lucky enough to be chosen and one of the candidates. That was in the summer of 2012. That totally changed my entire perspective of human and sports performance. From 2013-2015, I spent those years training youth, high school and professional athletes and also developing my training niche and around 2015 I decided I wanted more and luckily I ran into a friend of Travelle Gaines (Jelani Hawkins). And the opportunity presented itself for me to come out to Las Vegas and intern with him and Athletic Gaines and later led me to Los Angeles.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been a smooth one, there’s been many up and down, but those times lead to great times. It’s much like a rookie in the NFL, you literally have to continue to learn, grow and adapt and that makes the process much greater. There were struggle because I’ve never been the person who was always front and center waking myself but I had to learn to be more present and understand that relationships matter just as much as work.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Train To Perform story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in strength, conditioning and speed training for the general public and athletes of all sports. I believe I’m well known for speed development and movement and agility training. I’m most proud that we are able to develop organic and genuine relationships, at the end of the day the clients are who it’s all about so with what we offer it isn’t something that happens or can occur overnight.

The proudest moment to this day where I felt most accomplished was in 2018 when I was working with Athletic Gaines and we had three first-round draft picks in the NBA Draft (Trae Young, Zhaire Smith and Mo Wagner. If was right after my father passed away and I lost my passion, drive and purpose and that moment let me know how it felt to bounce back from hardships.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry is headed in a great direction I believe the training space has become much more scientific and specific to improving athletic performance but not limiting the aspect of injury prevention which is totally in favor of the athletes. In 5-10 with the way technology work, these days will only improves.
