Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Lima.
Hi Danielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I knew that being a nanny and an executive assistant forever was not where I was going to end up, not that there’s anything wrong with it, but I have always known that I’d be a successful business owner. I am not the daughter of immigrants; I AM AN IMMIGRANT. My parents brought me and my siblings from Brazil when I was only 9 years young. I was always “the boss” my mom says, when I played house, I wanted to be the dad because I knew my dad was the head of the household. When we played cops and robbers, I wanted to be chief of police because I knew that my dad’s boss was somehow titled “chief” not sure where I picked that up, kids! go figure! Now, I own a very small business that is very successful, if you ask me. I decided to go full-time into my craft as an esthetician right before we shut down for the pandemic. When we were finally able to open back up, I went full throttle and let nothing stop me. I am now starting to realize some of my wildest dreams like buying my dream car, living in a 4 bedroom house and traveling the world. However, it doesn’t stop with facials, I am going back to nursing school to finish my BSN in pursue of becoming an international injector nurse in the medical aesthetic world. I speak Portuguese, Spanish and English fluently and I hope to one day put all these languages to use as I live out my dreams of making everyone a little more confident in their own skin through a syringe of Botox and a little love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road? Not sure that’s a thing unless you were born into money, because money is able to buy out a lot of headaches. My mom and dad are blue-collar workers that didn’t have much to give me except for a whole lot of love and some advice on morality and how to be a good human overall. My dreams of success and financial freedom was born out of lack. My journey into my own business was anything but smooth. I have been cheated and lied to, I have had to wake up certain days knowing that if I was going to make my dreams a reality then I needed to take a shot of encouragement and strength in the morning. God is a big part of who I am and why I have come this far. My struggles were more financially than anything else, but also not having parents that went to college or own a business did not help me navigate mine. I learned that in the end of the day if I was happy pursuing my dreams then I could overcome anything. My boyfriend gave me some of the most vital pushes I needed to do what I successfully do today, and I will always be grateful to him.
We’ve been impressed with RNLosAngeles Corp., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a medical aesthetician. What is that? Glad you asked! I am a facialist that specializes in medical-grade facial treatments and products. I pride myself in being a medical aesthetician because through science and research I am able to transform my client’s skin. We all know facials to be somewhat like massage, it feels good and it relaxes you. Not mine! My facials are deeply thought out and curated to each individual’s needs. I have transformed hundreds of faces through skin education and my custom facials, I am known for my blunt and honest opinion of over-the-counter products. My clients are equipped with real skin knowledge and they will never be fooled by another glittery marketing scheme ever again.
What makes me different is that I don’t prolong your skin’s success for an extra buck. I get my clients their best skin as soon as possible and they are so satisfied that they tell 5 to 10 new people and that’s how my little business gets bigger and bigger. I do very little to no marketing, I don’t have a website or business cards, I like social media because I keep in contact with my clients and I can showcase my work to potential clients, other than that there really isn’t much out there and I am closing my books because I am so busy. I am proud of my ethical and transparent ways of delivering amazing skin care results. I am a glass house, everything I plan for your skin needs is very clearly communicated to you at all times. Every facial comes with a detailed explanation of why I am doing what I am doing. Yet, I am not afraid of being copied because at the end of the day I AM ME and that no one can copy!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Being honest and being open with my clients is key. Never overselling anything. I always under-promise and over-deliver. I know that clients are more educated now than ever before, if you don’t teach them someone else will then you lose all credibility.
