Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Aldrich.

Daniela, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I moved to the U.S. and got sick for the first time, I could not find the right products I needed at a pharmacy. Everything was so different because I was used to having personal pharmacists guide me, one on one, who could give me my prescription, over the counter medicine, and/or personal herbal mixes to support my recovery. Unfortunately, I could not find this at the pharmacy next to my house in the States. I went home with my chemical power boosters that would help me feel better but did not support or reduce my recovery time, as none of those ingredients were actually proven in studies in helping the body recover.

I created Mama Wunderbar for people who are interested in a safe, proven way of healing; a way fueled by herbalism to actually help yourself get better, instead of just feeling better. Our only intention is to add healing herbs and wellbeing to your life.

Every day, I witness people’s joy as they take their first sip, or feel their first face steam bath, as they realize these medicinal herbs really work. They’re real, they’re functional, they’re here, and they’re life changing – I know because they changed mine.

Has it been a smooth road?
It wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. But hey, nothing worth having comes without sacrifice right? Trying to build your brand in a super saturated market is never easy. I struggled and I’m not afraid to admit it.

To find the right organic herbs and fresh flowers were not easy. I knew that I did not want to import herbs, so it took me a month to find the right small farmers, who got everything I needed and were USDA organic certified. First I could not find any of the fresh flowers I needed for my mind healing formulations that were organically certified. I searched for a month. After month finally, I found a farmer, who was open to source the right seeds and plant those flowers and herbs for me. During those months, I often wanted to give up, but I stayed strong because I knew I could give so much back if I get the right ingredients to help people feel happy, relaxed and heal their minds and bodies naturally.

I was confident in what I wanted and knew that I just needed to follow my passion and see it through for myself.

Every day, I wake up and I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to spend my waking hours supporting health and mind of wonderful people.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Moving from Germany to LA wasn’t entirely smooth for me. The only person I knew was my husband and he is a rock musician and had no connection to anyone in the wellness industry. I left my network in Germany and needed to start from scratch while being a mom. So, business-wise, it was quite rough, but on the other side, LA opens so many doors for you. You just need to go for it.

BUT I need to admit – I LOVE LA. There is no better city I can imagine living in. The people here are special and I made such food friends here.
