Meet Daniel Zivetz of West LA Computer Expert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Zivetz.

Daniel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve studied and practiced PC and network troubleshooting and repair for 17 yrs. now. My beginning was with a device called WebTV which was sort of a novelty back then. It ultimately didn’t catch on but basically you were able to surf the web and participate in forum discussions on your TV. It held my interest but I quickly graduated to a Dell desktop with a dial up modem.
My interest in how this shiny, complicated machine peaked when I brought it into a local computer shop for help with one of the components. I liked the way the guys in the shop problem solved and were able to fix an issue that I thought would never be resolved.

I decided to enroll at a local community college to study computers and programming. I enjoyed learning and started gaining confidence in my skills. I then moved on to an accredited computer school where I studied “everything Windows” in intense daily sessions for a number of years. I was able to pass the tests to earn an A+ CompTia certificate and the MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certificate.

The head of this school thought I showed promise and sent some of his friends and associates who were experiencing PC problems to me to try to find a fix.

Thus began my career in this type of work.

I now service the West LA area and surrounding cities with prompt, comprehensive and effective support. I call my company West LA Computer Expert. I have excellent ratings on Yelp, Angie’s List, and Google Places to name a few sites.

I also have been taking various classes in web design, graphic design and computer programming for years at the local community college. I’ve earned a Website Creator and Website Software Specialist certificate from this school. I also do web design in addition to my base computer and network service and support. I have maintained a perfect 4.0 grade average! I love this work as it is both challenging and gratifying. I work with so many interesting and nice people on a daily basis. I learn so much for these interactions that make me both a better computer expert plus a better person.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Computer work can become frustrating when you first few solutions do not accomplish the desired goal. I always keep pushing to resolve the issue even if it takes extensive extra research and conferring with my fellow techs.

West LA Computer Expert – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company, West LA Computer Expert is based in West Los Angeles. Most of my work is done on-site, that is I go to the client’s home or business. I do also do some work at my home, especially when I am building a client a custom desktop.
I offer PC (no Mac) and network support. I can troubleshoot any Windows Operating System and most network devices. My company is very successful at diagnosing and reviving Windows systems that are in trouble with viruses or malware, blue screens, data loss, loss of internet access, printer issues. Really, the list goes on. Never a boring day!

I will set up a new or old modem, a router or a range extender. I will configure the network so it’s secure and works well within the work environment.

I have earned an “A” grade with about 150 reviews on Angie’s List. I have all 5 stars on Yelp and I get positive feedback from the majority of my clients.

My clients see me as a patient, thorough, conscientious, hard worker. I think that they can sense my desire to get their computer and networks to a better place. Not to mention their personal state of mind.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I would have to say that building a custom desktop and configuring it for a client who is very pleased to receive it.

Sometimes their whole world changes with a new system with state of the art components and software.

By far most dependable and fair. Amazing knowledge. Saved me and a few friends many times, and often will work very late. Loves good black coffee.
