Meet Daniel Terrones of 8 Bit Brewing Company in Murrieta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Terrones.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I, like most of my peers, started as a homebrewer. I was working at a construction firm, I was an Estimator and Project Coordinator, I enjoyed my work and the people I worked with but I wanted more. There is something magnetizing about creating something with your hands and watching your loved ones enjoy it. Beer was my art form and I wanted to chase it as long as I could. My first job in the craft beer industry was at Electric Brewing Company in Murrieta, CA. I started there in April of 2014 and was a part-time “Beer Server/Bar Back”. After about six months, I transitioned into the brewhouse and took over “Assistant Brewer” responsibilities. Held that position for two years. After that, I enrolled in Siebel Institute of Technology’s World Brewing Academy Advanced Brewing Theory Program in Chicago, Illinois. While studying there, Chris Keyson, Managing Partner of 8 Bit Brewing Company reached out and offered me a job. Once I got back home, I accepted the Head Brewer position at 8 Bit Brewing Co. I’ve held this position since May of 2017.

Has it been a smooth road?
I really can’t complain, I’ve worked with some really cool people that have always have put me in a position to succeed. The biggest challenge I’ve experienced was the expansion of 8 Bit’s brewhouse. We want from a very small and labor intensive 5 bbl system to a completely new 15bbl brewery. Building the new brewery and maintaining production in the original brewery was tough but a great time.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with 8 Bit Brewing Company – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
8 Bit Brewing Company is a Brewpub that prides itself in providing a unique experience. The focus is to create a welcoming space to all food and beer enthusiasts alike. The beer list ranges from one end of the spectrum to the other. As a brewer here one of the elements of the business I’m most proud of is the diversity of beers we brew. We serve delicate, classically brewed lagers as well as contemporary IPAs. While experimenting with more eclectic styles like fruited tart or sour IPAs, barrel aged stouts and oak aged mixed fermented saisons. The food is an elevated take on classic pub fare that pairs delightfully with the beers brewed.
