Meet Daniel Garcia and Danny Meza of Rich Mind$ Collective in SoCal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Garcia, Danny Meza.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, OB1 and myself have always had a passion for music. We connected back in high school in the city of Paramount, then started making music seriously after we graduated. We started RICH MIND$ a few years later in 2016. We wanted to build our own team of artist, music producers, and other creatives. I guess you could consider us an independent music label. In the past, we’ve tried to form other teams, but things just never panned out how we had envisioned. It’s crazy, just thinking about the process haha but we feel now we have a solid RICH MIND$ roster where we can really make an impact with our music. RICH MIND$ is my brainchild which I brought to OB1 and a few others to take it where I felt it needs to be.

In terms of how we got to where we are today, we went from recording inside OB1’s bedroom to having our very own recording studio (Control Room Studios). Damn, we still remember recording some of our first records there lol shit is wild. I had my very first show in May of 2017, and we haven’t let up since. I mean, me and Sanity just opened up for Black Star at the Fox Theater in Pomona. Which was a great experience by the way. We’ve done podcast interviews, even started to coordinate our own events. In addition, we managed to start a clothing line too. Our following, as individual artist and as a collective, is growing every single day, and we still have a lot more to give to the people. The love and recognition is humbling.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No way (laughing) like you said, starting something from the ground up it’s never easy. It requires a lot of time, energy, and focus. You have to step out of your comfort zone, network and build relationships. You also need the funds to keep everything going. However the formula we have right now is working and it’s simple, we just support artist (ours and others) with the same vision. This approach is how we’ve grown – building relationships in real life and online.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the RICH MIND$ Collective story. Tell us more about the business.
Okay, so our goal has always been about providing enlightenment through our music and brand, to encourage others to express themselves. We promote RICH MIND$ as more than just music and merchandise, it’s a lifestyle. We also specialize in music production. So our production services are available for hire. I think it’s safe to say that both me and OB1 are most proud of getting our recording studio up and running. Being able to do what we love everyday is a blessing but we give ourselves credit too. We know the work we put in. We really hustled for everything we have today. Now we’re in a position where we can seriously help upcoming artist in need of a creative space. I think what sets us apart from others, is the fact that we’re so diverse. I just haven’t come across anyone that compares to us.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Me personally, I don’t know if I believe in luck anymore. I just believe in hard work, consistency, persistence, manifestation and positive energy. Starting anew, forgiveness, never settling, always evolving.
