Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Garbe.
Dani, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born and raised in Brazil, I had the privilege of growing up surrounded by the arts, largely thanks to my mother. A talented artist, she recognized early on the importance of nurturing my creative side. As a result, she enrolled me in various activities such as painting, crafts, dance, and photography — the latter, although indirectly, always had a presence in my life.
Years passed, and though my artistic pursuits took a backseat, my passion for creativity never faded. It wasn’t until my husband began encouraging me to revisit photography—pointing out how much he admired the photos I took for fun—that I was inspired to explore it further. One day, I decided to take the plunge and formally study this art. Day by day, through every opportunity, every shot, and every edit, photography gradually found its way into my heart. Today, I can confidently say that I am deeply in love with my work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I believe that no career is entirely free of challenges. We all encounter moments of insecurity, fear, and frustration, and my journey has been no different. One of my initial hurdles was the language barrier. Since English is not my first language, I often felt insecure, despite being able to conduct a photoshoot with confidence. Additionally, building a client base proved difficult at first, as my network was small.
However, over time, I’ve come to realize that confidence in your work comes with practice and cultivating strong relationships. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful. God has been very good to me, and I consider myself blessed to have worked with so many kind and wonderful clients who have crossed paths with my lens.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a photographer specializing in maternity, portraits, elopements, and weddings. Through my work, I aim to capture the unique beauty of each individual and each moment. My goal is not only to ensure my clients are happy with their choice of having me be a part of their special moment, but also to offer something more than just a service. I strive to enrich the lives of those who trust me with their memories. Every time my clients look at their photos, I want them to not only see how beautiful they are but to relive the emotions they felt in that very moment.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
As I mentioned earlier, I have been immersed in the arts since I was a child. I’ve always been an emotional and intense person, and I believe these traits now play a significant role in my ability to fully immerse myself in each photoshoot. For me, photography is more than just capturing images; it’s about immortalizing special moments in a way that truly honors their significance.
