Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Weinstein.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
LA RELAXED was founded in 2015 as a domestically made, sustainable luxury basics brand. Since then, we’ve expanded into a full collection inspired by the LA lifestyle, yet appropriate for any locale.
We’ve recently added sustainable wovens to our collection and have managed to keep everything made right here in downtown Los Angeles in our vertically integrated manufacturing facility. In addition, 98% of the fabrics we use are knit here in the city at local mills. All of this helps us minimize our carbon footprint, as well as maintaining a low impact on the planet by using plant-based, organic, and biodegradable fabrics.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The lack of readily available eco-friendly materials has been a challenge at times. We are lucky that we’ve been able to develop close relationships with the local mills allowing us to develop our own fabrics and innovate when it comes to using sustainable fibers.
It’s not always easy to manufacture domestically either – cost is traditionally higher than overseas. Despite this it’s crucial to the brand that we keep production here in our city. This not only provides local jobs and supports the economy, it allows us to minimize waste and keep a close eye on quality.

LA RELAXED is a clothing brand offering seasonless and sustainable luxury casual wear. Sustainability is native to us as we have only ever used eco-friendly materials. Our customers love how soft and cozy our signature fabrics are.
We offer a full collection of clothing on our website and are proud to have our Jumpsuit featured in Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2018.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
From my childhood in Florida to my current life in LA, the beach has always been a happy and energizing place.
