Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Noble.
Hi Dana, thanks for joining us today. Please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always made being comfortable and self-care a priority, even before I knew what self-care was. I’ve also been big on alone time, I believe when you spend time with yourself and God, you’re able to love yourself on a deeper level, and it allows you to reset and recharge. My love for these things birthed the D. Noble Collection; a Chic, Classic, Cozy Collection that includes bath + body, home fashions, cozy lounge & sleepwear, and unique delicates. I believe that what you wear, coupled with the atmosphere you are in, directly impacts the way you feel.
2014 is when I first took the leap of faith to start my brand, although it didn’t start off as this luxury polished brand that you see now. The beginning for my brand started out with handmade pillows, art, table decor, candles, and faith-based T-shirts. Although I loved my collection, I knew deep down I wanted to have a luxury collection that could be found on the shelves at your high-end stores (not just at craft fairs lol), but I didn’t have the resources at the time to execute this big vision. I decided to just start and meet myself where I was at the time with plans to one day elevate and rebrand. In 2016, I relocated to Los Angeles and decided to shut down my online store and start my rebrand. I spent the next few years saving up and taking my time to carefully curate a collection for those who prioritize refreshing their space and themselves. In 2019, I introduced The D.Noble Collection to the world.
Since my journey began in 2019, I’ve worked continuously to promote the importance of self-care and establishing an atmosphere of peace and solitude. Now The D.Noble Collection has been featured in several publications, one being Beyoncé’s Black Parade – Black Owned Business Directory, and national broadcasts such as Good Morning America and The View.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about entrepreneurship is easy, but it’s absolutely rewarding. The bumps in the road can’t be avoided, but I’ve learned to get over these bumps as best as I can. Like many small businesses, we too were impacted due to coronavirus (just seven months after launching). Being a new business owner during this time was very challenging, as we couldn’t get many of the supplies needed to make items that were made in-house, and we weren’t able to get inventory from our manufacturer that was produced overseas. It was a very frustrating time, but on the flip side it was also a time where customers were very patient with us, and the support for my business was unreal. While the world was on lockdown and forced in their house, I had a full home collection ready, the timing was perfect. Being able to come out on top during a pandemic has given me confidence knowing if I made it thru that season, I can get over any obstacle that comes my way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The D.Noble collection creates a peaceful atmosphere capturing the essence of living “noble,” and will give you inspiration to relax and enjoy staying in. I feel it is possible to exude “royalty” whilst lounging around and decompressing from your taxing day; feeling beautiful, confident, and of course, comfortable. It’s my mission to spread God’s love and inspire while encouraging others to take care of themselves, spend time with themselves, and fall in love with themselves.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I think having a mentor is necessary, and it’s actually something I’m currently seeking. Although I have relationships with other business owners, and I can always reach out when I need advice, I would love to have a personal mentor.
As far as networking it’s essential. Every opportunity I get, I’m networking. Many great opportunities come from someone that I’ve networked with at some point in my journey, and they reach out when they have an opportunity or due to someone passing along my information. In this business, you need real connections and relationships.
