Today we’d like to introduce you to Damaris Daniel.
Damaris, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my Beauty Blog almost 2 1/2 years ago. I was always in love with beauty and fashion and loved to be creative and give people advice on things I love and live by. I was also working in a field that has no creativity and I felt stifled. So I decided to just go for it make a beauty page on Instagram and really give it my all. Here we are two plus years later and the blog is coming along I’m working with brands, growing a following, I’m being featured in mini champagnes, venturing out doing makeup at fashion shows just really getting into all the things I love and worked my whole life to try and achieve. I’m far from where I want to be but the possibility’s are endless once I put my passion out into the Universe and let it run its course.
Has it been a smooth road?
When you decide to step out and bet on your self and your creativity. It’s never a smooth road you mostly battle your self, am I good enough is this good enough am I doing enough do I need to do more, etc. Also, you feel like no one sees you cause your at the beginning and at the beginning your struggling to make your mark. Once you do, it’s still a struggle but you have build confidence and told yourself just keep going never to quit and eventually things will come together. But one big struggle was me being diagnosed with having arthritis because I was getting sick and no one could tell me what was happening. I was weak I couldn’t stand I was in pain all the time and trying to create content and be consistent was very hard at that time because I just wanted to rest and feel better. So that had to be my biggest struggle and something I’m overcoming everyday just not always feel my best but trying to show the best version of myself.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My business is I am a beauty influencer. I influence beauty lovers to one be themselves. To love their skin and their shape and to show them that beauty and fashion is not just a hobby it’s a way of life. When you look good you feel good. Everyone knows that! I’m known for showing people how to slay for life and to always put your best face forward. I want people to feel confident when they come to my page and not feel like they have to limit themselves to what society has to say. What sets me apart from the rest is that theirs no one like me, I’m not one thing I’m many things I’m nice I’m kind I’m loving loyal but I’m also funny, feisty wrapped with a little crazy lol. I love to see people win and knowing I had a hand in that what’s all my sacrifices worth it.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I do believe your city is a good place for a business like mine. I believe any city can be you just have to find a way to market yourself and find your target market which is something I am still working on. Finding ways to market myself and appeal to the masses in order to grow.
