Meet Dalen Spratt of Loren Spratt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dalen Spratt.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
While obtaining my MBA in the winter of 2007, I studied international business and international marketing abroad in Beijing, China. While living in Beijing, I made friends with a few locals who worked in a fabric/tailoring shop. They took me in and showed me the ropes.

After I completed my semester abroad, I came back to Atlanta and began making suits for myself using the connections I made In China. People around the Atlanta University Center took a liking to my suits and always inquired about them. My frat brother (Kappa Alpha Psi) and I decided to start a business designing and making suits for other students.

Over the years the brand grew drastically. Both myself and my partner Juwan Mass worked for BET after graduation I’m their wardrobe department. This opportunity allowed us to get our suits on the majority of their scripted shows filming in Atlanta. As the years progressed everyone we went to school with started to get married… making us the go to guys for a SEA of people who are either getting married or planning on it. One wedding led to another and ever now been featured in Essence, Black Enterprise, D Weddings, etc. our clients have won best dressed at the Grammys as well as names best dressed groomsmen by multiple publications.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
God has truly blessed us along the way. We have grown organically. Our huge network at the AUC (Clark, Morehouse, Spelman) has given us extreme exponential growth. We have never spent a dime on marketing. Word of mouth and social media has really driven our business. The best way to market a suit is to put one on and just walk outside lol.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Loren Spratt – what should we know?
Loren Spratt – Tailored Men’s Suit Brand

Specialize in weddings, tv shows, and personal clientele.

I’m proud to be the go to guys for weddings. Never married and always a groomsmen… at least we can make sure we look good at the alter lol.

What sets us apart is our personalities. People want to feel good, and we’re in the business of making them feel great… whether purchase a suit or not.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My partner Juwan Mass. We’ve built this brand from the ground up. Never have we wavered from the plan.
