Cynthia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a board certified internist and cardiologist. I have been practicing medicine for over 25 years. Over the years, I have evolved my practice from a very scientific Western approach to an approach that values the individual person and validate the importance of lifestyle intervention, behavior and choice, and mindfulness. Our office can serve all your medical needs from wellness exams and cardiology care to a complete scope of the latest anti-aging therapies, such as IV vitamin therapy and our own highly-effective weight loss program.
I founded Burbank Aesthetic Medical Spa in 2016 because I realized that to maintain optimum health, the outside must be treated much the same as the inside. Our unique and complete approach to health and wellness delivers the perfect balance of radiance and beauty on the outside to further facilitate happiness for the best possible health on the inside.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are challenges of introducing an entirely new service line into an existing practice. Patients are used to the medical insurance model, so establishing a cash based model of reimbursement has been a shift in thinking for both the patients as well as the staff.

I personally define success not be the achievements, but by the growth of the individual. “Who have I become in the process” – how have I grown, what have I learn, whose lives have I impacted, what transformative changes have I made in myself and the lives of others, what heartfelt connections have I made, have I spread love and happiness in the world, have I made someone smile. These are the criterias by which I define my success.
