Meet Cyndee Donato of Antelope Valley Winery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyndee Donato.

Hi Cyndee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 1990 we bought a boutique urban Winery by the name of McLester Winery located near LAX. We moved it to Lancaster in 1991. For the last 32 years, we have grown the Winery by planting a vineyard and expanding our Tasting Room and Gift Shop. We produce all of our wines on our premises from our Estate grapes and those we purchase from other local growers. We have wines for every palate, from dry to sweet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and many others in the dry category. Dolce Rosso and Paloma Blanca among the sweet offerings. We are family owned and operated. We have a beautiful vineyard park and gazebo for wine tasting and weddings as well as indoor wine tasting and a banquet room.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Learning to operate a vineyard and winery was a tremendous challenge but a labor of love. Our oldest son was three when we purchased the Winery and our younger son was born a year after the purchase. So they were literally raised in the Winery setting! Balancing a young family and a business was also a challenge. As the kids got older, they ended up helping us with many aspects of growing the Winery!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Antelope Valley Winery?
Our goal is to help people learn more about wine through the tasting experience. We love to meet new customers as well as hosting our long-time ones! We strive for an atmosphere like the Cheers sitcom; A place where everybody knows your name!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Perseverance and adaptation!
