Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortnee Peterson.
Cortnee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Brixton.Phoenix in the Fall of 2016 with little to no direction. I was in search of a hobby and a creative outlet to keep me busy. I started out making teething rings and pacifier clips, which soon led to carrying other small shop baby items. I recently welcomed our second son into this world on July 20th, 2018. In a quest to have more ready to ship items (because hand making teethers is so time consuming!), I decided to expand and add our own designed onesies! I most recently worked along side one of my best friends in designing my own muslin swaddles, muslin quilts and crib sheets! I feel I have found my niche and will continue to put out beautiful and modern designs you can be proud of.
Has it been a smooth road?
We’ve grown fairly quickly, but it is taken a lot of trial and error and research! We’re still learning and getting better at what we do with each passing day.
Tell us more about the business.
We design infant basic apparel, accessories and nursery items such as; ribbed knit rompers and gowns, muslin swaddle blankets and crib sheets. We have our own special designs that stay current with today’s modern trends. We mostly try to keep our designs gender neutral and timeless so they can be reused over and over again.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We offer wholesale to other brick and mortar retailers all over the world and I hope to continue to grow the number of retailers was currently in. We will continue to design prints that match today’s trends and hopefully expand our line. I see us growing exponentially in the coming years and hiring a team to help the day to day operations.
