Meet Corey Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Jones.

Hi Corey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started designing pendants for classmates in high school made out of silver using Microsoft WordarAt manipulating the fonts to create unique designs. I left corporate America to attend The Gemological Institute of America in 2012. After GIA I started working in the Los Angeles Jewelry district as an apprentice, working for a manufacturer. I learned CAD design, how to select investment grade Gemstones and engineering and production of high jewelry. I worked for various Bridal companies while simultaneously building my private client business. It’s so much to learn in the jewelry business every day is a new day no 2 days are a like.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely, not a smooth road, more so a lot of peaks and valleys. Thankfully I was blessed with working with people with high integrity in the Jewelry Industry. That have given me guidance and wisdom along my matriculation. Working as an apprentice doing CAD design I was not as proficient as I am now. It took a while for me to develop my skills where I could become a full-time employee. That was difficult working 8 hours a day then going home to continue to work on a project until I figured it out. It took me a year to become proficient in CAD. It was worth it, the slow progression of my skillset made me appreciate the craft and paid close attention to detail. Which shows in my work. I have worked alongside master goldsmiths, diamond setters, and mentors who have been in the business for over decades. They passed down knowledge to me which I communicate to my clients.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a private jeweler who specializes in investment-grade diamonds and gemstones. I create family heirlooms that will grow in value for years to come. My unique perspective of design, along with my high-quality of work, I create modern works of art for my clients. What I communicate to my clients is that I provide the same quality of 18kt gold and VS+ diamond standard the same as the high jewelry Maison’s. I take the most pride in my clients telling me that the enjoyed the process of bespoke jewelry, how I articulate each step and their excitement once they see their diamond jewelry come to life. There a lot of jewelers in Los Angeles. I take pride in sourcing investment-grade diamonds from around the world that are within my client’s budgets, at the same time beyond their expectations of quality.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very curious kid growing up, determined and very entrepreneurial. I always wanted to have a hands-on approach to whatever I did. I believe in committing 100% of whatever you decide to do. I loved art, fashion and design. I really appreciate history and the origins of how the norms of society has come to be the norm.
