Today we’d like to introduce you to Connie Cossio.
Hi Connie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My father ‘The Godfather of Seafood” was the founder of Coniseafood. We started from our backyard back in 1989 in 1998 he opened the inglewood location, he is my inspiration and I am so proud of him that I followed his footsteps and became a chef learned everything from him and eventually took over in 2005. Johnathon Gold LA’s #1 food critic found us and wrote about my restaurant which escalated to having so much press I have a wall of fame of so many recognitions even Michelin⭐️ 2021 and 2025 I have participated in many food shows.. I will continue to succeed, and reach my goal to be Michelin ⭐️ 2026!!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Theirs struggles on a daily bases, restaurant world is tuff, from employees to customers satisfaction and competition theirs millions, but I do believe we are the best seafood in all LA ! Struggle is part of success!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am the best cevichera in the world!! I represent freshness and quality seafood with simple preparations, seafood is imported from Mexico . I specialize in the signature dish “Pescado Zarandeando” (shafting ) whole grilled snook with caramelizad onions, tortillas and house traditional Nayarit style green salsa. We offer 7 different ceviches from back sauce , red, and green etc . Smoked Marlin Tacos Marlin comes from Mazatlan Sin. baby lobsters in a secret house sauce. What sets me apart is the simple ingredients full of flavor usually others taste plain or fishy flavors. My product is imported from Mexico . I’m proud to be able to honor my fathers creation and to show my kids to dream bigger and to surprise myself alone the way . The authenticity of our dishes quality of our product and the love we have for food.
