Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Wrightsman.
Chris, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In the 1980’s and 1990’s we were general contractors in the Los Angeles area, doing all types of construction projects. Because of our skill set, we would occasionally be asked to look over a home that was being purchased. Every time we did one we would find something important or unknown about the property that helped out the purchaser. We realized home inspections was a valuable service to home buyers and started contacting realtors informing them that we were available for this service.
At that time (1990’s) only about 20% of home were inspected prior to closing escrow but soon that number was rising and getting to the point where all homes had an inspection.
As the inspection business grew we expanded, adding several inspectors a year. We also put together a computer program that allowed us to create a report right on the spot so the buyer and realtor knew immediately what our findings and recommendations were.
As time went on we expanded into other needed services such mold, sewer lines and chimney inspections to fully service our clientele.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road for us has been pretty smooth however we tend to follow the real estate market and when the sub-prime bubble burst in 2008 we were hit hard. One-third of our business went away almost overnight.
However, as the market came back so did we and we have recovered that lost business and more over the last decade.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the LaRocca Inspection Associates story. Tell us more about the business.
We are known for high quality property inspections and for the being the biggest home inspection company in the Los Angeles area. Because we have so many inspectors we can handle a large volume of inspections even on very short notice. We can handle the emergency inspection that needs to be done immediately. We also can inspect large properties in one day by using multiple inspectors to get it all done at once.
We have a quality service team set up to ensure that our clients get the best service and deal with any issues or complaints. I don’t know of any other inspection company that has that type of service.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We feel that it isn’t luck – it has been hard work and dedication that has gotten us to the point where we are the best inspection company in the area.

My partner, Chris, did a great job in communicating the LaRocca story given limited amount of space available. There’s a lot more but mainly it’s that LaRocca is a team player, dedicated to helping buyers by providing the valuable data they need for making an informed decision in their real estate purchases.
We love what we do and truly want to help out clients be successful in the pursuit of their goals.
