Meet Chris Villain in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Villain.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chris. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in the OC as a competitive gymnast! When I got into high school, I fell into the world of performing arts and all aspects of it! I started performing in my school’s show choir and slowly picked up singing and dancing. Little did I know I would get hired at The Disneyland Parks as a singer and performer right after I graduated! This is when my professional career really began. It was while I was at the Disney Parks that I decided to expand my love of performing to YouTube and Instagram! I started my journey into the world of Social Media by posting cover videos of different songs that I liked. A lot of the times, I would dress up as the characters or people that sang those songs, which got me into cosplay! I then started going to cosplay conventions and posting my cosplay pics and videos to Instagram. Since then I’ve gained a lot of followers that love what I do! I’ve also got attention from news hubs such as Huffington Post, Disney, Nintendo, and a lot of others! Currently I’m still singing for the Disney Parks and creating content online! I’m starting to take on bigger projects and getting to write and direct as well!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wouldn’t say that the road getting to where I am was the smoothest, but it definitely could’ve been worse! I’ve been really lucky to have my family’s full support as well as the support of an amazing group of friends! I think the most difficult thing has been trying to stay focused on any particular aspect of the creative field. There’s so many things that I like to do (sing, dance, write, direct, cosplay, sfx makeup) that it’s very easy for me to get overwhelmed and at times, frustrated.

I would say that it’s also been difficult to keep a balance between the things that I want to do creatively and the things that the community I’ve built wants to see from me! There’s things that I want to do as an artist but I also want to make things for the people that support me, you know?

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Chris Villain – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I think I’m an interesting case, where my business/company is simply the brand I’ve created around myself! Most people know me for my uplifting, goofy, and nerdy personality and I like to invest that in everything that I do! Be it singing, acting, dancing, writing, directing, cosplay or WHATEVER!

I’m really proud of the fact that I’ve been able to continue doing what I love for so long! Especially during a period of time where it’s really hard to stay afloat financially in a place like Los Angeles. Making myself and others happy has been, and continues to be, amazing!

I think something that sets me apart from others is the diversity in my skill set. Without tooting my own horn, I’ve yet to come across something in a creative field that I feel I cannot do! When I’m approached by a brand or business about an activation or project they’re trying to accomplish, they’re always surprised by the creativity I use to achieve what they want! I also pride myself in the quality of my work and work ethic. I think both of those things also help to set me apart!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
SO MANY THINGS! Lol My future is something else that I have problems planning because I have a very long list of things I want to accomplish! I’ve been doing screen tests lately for TV shows and would LOVE to pursue my acting career so that I can end up on TV and on the big screen in a worldwide feature film someday! My agent has also been pushing me to take an extended trip to NYC to pursue Broadway! I’ve toured the U.S. with shows and currently still make a living performing so I would LOVE to do that as well! Recently I’ve also been righting original music for projects on my YouTube channel that have grabbed the attention of people like Kenny Ortega and Disney, WHICH IS MIND BLOWING! I would love to come out with a solo pop album one day! I think those things are on the top of my to do list right now but the list really does go on and on lol.
