Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Cope.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chris. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started doing comedy at the age of 19, by 21 I was a paid working comedian. Started in the south and started working then to work all over the US. Moved to LA 5 years ago, since then I’ve appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tosh.O, Grey’s Anatomy, and recently appearing on Netflix as well as TBS’s Conan.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being a working comedian is probably one of the hardest jobs you can have. Just being funny is a difficult road, then learning to monetize your talent is another entire row to hoe. Any obstacle you can name a comic has gone through it for work.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am most proud of the fact that I have stuck with being an entertainer now for over 14 years. I think my likability and also my wit help set me apart onstage from other comedians. Tenacity separates me professionally as well. I refuse to give up.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Last month I made my late night debut on TBS’s Conan.
