Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiell Ann Ordonez.
Hi Chiell Ann, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business in 2018, shortly after getting married in 2017. I was very hands-on when planning my own wedding, but when the day arrived, I was more than happy to let go and trust a professional wedding team. Our planner did an amazing job, and seeing everything come together so beautifully was what really inspired me.
Before weddings, I came from a corporate background and worked my way up over the years. Looking back, my favorite parts of every role were always the events…tradeshows, celebrations, and the behind-the-scenes planning that brought people together. I began helping friends and family plan their weddings, and quickly realized I had a real natural love for it. Eventually, people started hiring me, and I decided to take the leap and start my own business.
Two weeks after officially forming the LLC, I found out I was pregnant!! So from the very beginning, I’ve been building a business and a family at the same time. It’s been a full-circle journey through growth, change, and a lot of (tough) learning along the way.
Today, we’re a family of five with three kids, a growing team, multiple businesses, and an exciting new chapter underway with the launch of an intimate creative venue and office space in Orange County, just in our neighborhood!
At the end of the day, I love creating meaningful experiences and helping people feel supported, connected, confident, and present….especially during life’s biggest moments.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all!! it’s honestly been the bumpiest rollercoaster of my life. Things really shifted once my first child was born, and then 2020 hit not long after. That period pushed me mentally, emotionally, and professionally in ways I didn’t expect. I was learning how to be a parent at the same time I was learning how to run a business…all while navigating uncertainty, stress, and constant change.
Along the way, I invested heavily in myself. I worked with a life coach, joined multiple coaching and educational programs, therapists, and spent a lot of time learning how to lead, manage finances better, and build something sustainable, not just successful. There was a lot of trial and error, growth, and humbling moments.
One mindset shift that truly changed everything for me was adopting the belief that “everything is figureoutable.” It helped me approach challenges with more clarity and less fear, and it’s shaped how I handle stress and adapt to whatever comes next.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Love and Life Events?
At the heart of our business, we focus on creating events that feel thoughtful, well-organized, and genuinely taken care of. We specialize in wedding planning, coordination, and event management, with a strong emphasis on logistics, timelines, and making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. We’re especially known for handling complex events, larger guest counts, cultural celebrations, and all the moving pieces that come with them.
What sets us apart is how detail-oriented and people-focused our team is. We’re big on preparation, communication, and staying a few steps ahead so our clients don’t have to worry. Our goal is always for couples to actually enjoy their day, feel present, and trust that someone has their back behind the scenes.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built for being dependable, professional, and great to work with. Most of our growth has come from word-of-mouth and referrals, which means a lot to us. We’re polished but warm and approachable, high-end without the pressure.
What I want readers to know is that when you work with us, you’re not just hiring a planner. You’re gaining a team that truly cares, pays attention to the details, and treats your event like its the most important day ever!
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I don’t see myself as a big risk-taker, but I do believe in taking thoughtful leaps when something feels right. One of the biggest risks I took was leaving a stable corporate job to start my business, and then finding out I was pregnant just two weeks later. From that moment on, I was over being risky and things got too real.
Motherhood changed everything for me. Now every decision is about creating stability, freedom, and opportunity…not just for me, but for my family and the team I’m building. I think a lot about the future: the kind of business I want to grow, the example I want to set for my kids, and the kind of life we’re working toward.
Our brand is built on that same mindset, thoughtful growth, flexibility, and doing things with purpose. For me, risk isn’t about taking wild leaps; it’s about trusting the vision, staying open to change, and believing that with the right intention and effort, you can build something both meaningful and lasting.
