Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl Hunter.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began my journey as a small-town cowgirl with big-city dreams. As a teenager, I “escaped” from my family’s horse ranch in the mountains of rural Colorado for the bright lights of Europe, with nothing more than an over-packed suitcase and a dream.
Once I arrived, I was approached by two men who promised to make me a model. Instead, they abducted me, held me captive, and eventually left me for dead. I survived this life-changing trauma, refocused my life, and became a model anyway.
By the time I was 23, I had lived in seven countries, been featured in every major magazine franchise, and was the worldwide Coca-Cola girl. As a response to captivity, I learned how to rise. In the process, I created an educational framework to help others overcome adversity, and for many years, my team and I taught that education to people all over the planet. Eventually, however, we realized that we could make a far bigger difference if we instead helped other people change the world in their own unique way by getting the media recognition for the good work they are doing.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been “smooth” but I have honestly enjoyed the journey. By sharing my story, I have been able to connect with people around the world who have shared their experiences with me. I consider it an honor that people have felt comfortable enough with me to let me in. I believe that in these connections, I learned that we all have stories and when we share them, we provide an opportunity for ourselves to heal and for others to learn.
We are approached by hundreds of applicants each week and conduct an in-depth vetting process with each to make sure that they are a good fit for the program and that we will, in turn, be the right fit for them. It is important for us to feel confident that we can properly empower them with the information and skills they need to get their message out and achieve the results that they desire.
Social media has been an extremely useful tool, and we are proud of the content we have created and the success stories we have shared that help to highlight exactly what we do and the amazing results our participants have secured.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I help people with triumphant stories get their message out to the world through major media. My clients appear on national TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, and on stage.
I personally cracked the code on how to craft a compelling message that is like candy to big media…then I successfully applied my findings to my own career.
Doing so enables me to continually provide expert commentary for news sources including Dr. Oz, NBC News, Fox, PBS, Forbes Magazine, Inc., Entrepreneur, and many more; deliver four TED talks, and publish two bestselling books.
I also work as a TV writer and producer, so I know how the media thinks because I’ve stood in their shoes. I’ve written or produced for networks including CBS, HBO, Paramount Pictures, PBS, and CNN. That combined experience makes me uniquely qualified to help my clients produce outstanding results and get featured on national TV, magazines, newspapers, radio, podcasts, and the stage.
* We have a client who is the founder of a global non-profit. With our help, she got her story and her non-profit organization featured on national TV.
* Another client put our strategy into practice, and within weeks, his business revenue was up 40% even during this pandemic.
* A husband-and-wife dynamic duo have tripled their business’s clientele, been featured in Medium and Authority Magazine, and are now regular contributors to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
What were you like growing up?
I grew up on a ranch in Colorado, the closest neighbor was a horseback ride away so my best friends were my immediate family. I was extremely close to my mother and grandmother but the isolation of ranch living created a wanderlust at an early age that would encourage me to explore the world.
