Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherelle Lenise Ward.

Cherelle Lenise Ward

Hi Cherelle Lenise, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and I grew up in the urban communities of Baltimore. I was raised in a single-parent home with my mother and little sister, and my story started when journals became my refuge to safety. I would write short stories every day in my journals, subconsciously of my own internal and external struggles. I would fictionalize characters had the same struggles as me, with different upbringings and putting milestones in their midst to see how the story panned out. I realized at ten years old, that I could possibly be a really great writer one day. It was my dream and hope to have authored a book one day, and the dream has come. I am now the author of He Chose Me: A Story of Abuse, survival and seeing God for the first time Volume one. He Chose Me will become a trilogy series chronicling specific things that has impacted my life in a profound way. that still teaches me today. I want to share what I have learned through my own personal experiences with the world and possibly help save someone’s life or at least make it a little easier for someone who’s been exposed to endure unbearable things. My book is available in Paperback, Ebook and Hardcover for purchase on Amazon. Here is the link: https://a.co/d/4TRZQn9

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey as an author is just beginning. I am not sure as to what my journey will entail in the future, but it is my hope and prayer to write as many books, scripts, teleplays in every fashion to entertain and educate all walks of life with incredible stories. I pray that God is with me in my writing journey, and I pray I am able to bring on board many author aspiring and influential writers to help keep the momentum going even after I am gone. I am creating and slowly building something from scratch, and I would really like to provide a space for writers to safe keep and protect their ideas while keeping them excited about their craft. Often times when I write, I always get a little overwhelmed with making the story perfect or what my audience may think of the story or who it may not reach. Meanwhile, I am forgetting the most significant part of writing in the first place which is enjoying the craft even the mistakes or miscalculations.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
When I am not working my regular day job as a Senior Quality Review and Audit Analyst at a health company that I have been employed with for eight years, I am writing as much as I can. I like to write anything that I can create, horror stories, psychological thrillers, drama, you name it. Even though my horror stories and other stories have not been published, but I promise you will see my name and creative works all around. I am known for writing cliffhangers. When I was in middle and high school, I used to write a lot in my journals and my best friend used to read a lot of my short stories and when the story would end, she would yell, ” Cherelle! You left another cliffhanger!” This is what I am known for, to keep you on the edge of your seat, engaged and leaving many cliffhangers. Lastly, what sets me apart from others is I am Cherelle ”TheWriter.”

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was quiet, shy, and I stayed to myself. I hardly spoke in class except in English or when it came to creative writing. I guess you could say I was introverted but I later came out of my shell in my last year of high school. I started to talk more, speak up more, socialize more with others and it really did bring out my personality a lot more. When I am really comfortable, I like to make jokes and make people laugh. I am interested in all kinds of people, but I find myself drawn to the underdogs, the ones people walk by and won’t acknowledge them without a second thought. I was one of those people. I love horror, I like storytelling. I like versatile storytelling. I like those kinds of stories where it looks like it’s a typical story but with a different plot, turns and sub-plots that are not foreseen except for in the writer’s room.
