Today we’d like to introduce you to CC Consalvo.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I began to cook holistically, it was out of a crisis and a mission to simply keep my mother alive. I was 14 when she got sick. The doctors explained the ways in which we could help her, food was mentioned. If she stays away from processed foods perhaps that will make a difference and prolong her life, is what one doctor said. That was all I needed to begin my quest to cook and care for my mother. Throughout that experience, my life’s work as a chef and wellness coach was born.
I was a personal holistic chef in LA, studied holistic nutrition and for the past five years, I’ve been focusing solely on my wellness coaching practice. I believe the universe provides healing in many ways; the foods we eat, the thoughts we think and where we spend our time, all equate to our overall sense of wellbeing. Now I teach people how to turn their kitchen into their medicine cabinets.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was very difficult when I lost my mom at such an early age and finding my way was just as hard at times. When I moved to LA at 26, I began to find my life path and embrace my passion for food and healing more clearly.
Combating my emotional demons and finding a way for myself in the city of angles was all part of the process. Out of the experience of losing my mother came my life’s work. She was giving me a gift while she transitioned.
Of course, I didn’t see it at the time, but now it’s very clear. Everything happens for us and through us.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
What I do is teach people how to turn their kitchen, into their medicine cabinet. After 20 years as a personal holistic chef, I wanted to share all my shortcuts, chef tips and how to make the kitchen more user-friendly.
I believe when you’re prepared, you can create beautiful, healthful food at home that not only tastes good but also supports a busy lifestyle. Well Restored began out of a strong desire to support, manage and coach my clients back to feeling better now.
Fresh, seasonal and local food is the baseline for everything I do. Reset with CC is what I call it and it’s very powerful and meaningful work.
My areas of focus: Weight management, food intolerances and special eating styles like Keto, Paleo, and plant-based. I also assist my clients with motivational guidance, inspiration, and mindful listening. Whatever is needed to get them from where they are to where they want to be.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA is a great city to do wellness work. It’s called the city of angels for a reason, and I always remind myself this is a magical place to live. Now there are many people doing this work, but there are also many who need it as well.
I feel that if you have one thing you do, do it 100%. Every day and put all your efforts into it. Be unique and do not try and fit into a mold or a trend. People, especially potential clients can sense and feel authenticity so I would always push to keep it real.
