Meet Cat of Cat’s Club Fitness in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cat.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cat. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Cat’s Club Fitness 4.5 years ago as a gym; but conceptualizing my training program and philosophies has been ongoing since the late 90’s. I earned investments from a few clients that benefited greatly from following my three keys to self-care maintenance:

1. Practice Discipline
2. Maintain Consistency
3. Be PATIENT

I believe that no matter the philosophies or concepts you use to better your health and well- being, those three key tips will aid in your success.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing has been smooth for me my entire life, so I look forward to the day when I can speak in past tense about my struggles. I continue to practice faith so that I don’t fear the unknown. I remind myself that fear is the absence of faith.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Cat’s Club Fitness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My company is Cat’s Club Fitness Inc. My first business is the Cat’s Club Fitness training facility. I run my business on my own. I wear many hats; but I specialize in accountability training. From the kitchen to the gym, we must all be accountable for the decisions we choose to make with what we feed our system and how we process that food into usable energy. My long term goal is to pave the way and assist entrepreneurs towards a path to running their service-based business from home.

I’m known for helping people take action to achieve their goals rather than spending more time planning and trying… just do the work and reach the goal.

The greatest difference with me is that I walk the talk. I expect myself to be held accountable for my actions and realize that I am the only one holding me back… I want that perspective for everyone. Be mature enough and brave enough to turn things around and take control.

That pizza didn’t just materialize in your stomach… You had to order it or cook it and eat it. There’s so much time during that process to stop yourself and go make a meal that’s more in line with your goals.

Don’t get me wrong though, I LOVE pizza; but I am cautious of eating processed foods so I make pizzas at home more often than I order them already prepared. There’s a place for everything we enjoy; but we must discontinue making excuses and blaming others for our choices.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Currently, I am seeking capital to prepare for a relocation project in December 2021. As a minority business owner and veteran, with the right guidance, I can take my business model to the next level and create more beautiful locations for fitness & wellness training.

Being a black queer female veteran business owner… I get doors closed on me and stood up at meetings on a regular basis. It would be so helpful to find the right organizations and federal funding to help me finally get out of financial hardship and be able to focus on running a successful fitness business and reach my goal of mentorship.
