Meet Cassidy Naber

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Naber.

Hi Cassidy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My whole life has been dedicated to my career. My entire family is in the entertainment business, so I guess you could say I followed in their footsteps. I went from doing a national commercial with my family when I was 8 months old to playing many memorable roles such as playing Chelsea, Barbie’s little sister, on many shows and movies for almost five years. I’ve been very lucky to have worked with many icons in the acting and dancing industry who have left me with so much knowledge that I aim to pass on to the new generation. For that reason, I’m starting to teach my own dance classes in hopes that the younger kids who are eager to learn more about this industry can learn something from me. Aside from that, I’m still training daily to be the best dancer and actress I can possibly be. It’s definitely tough sometimes, but I hope that people can notice my hard work so they can be inspired to be the best versions of themselves.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being in this business, it feels like you don’t have much control over how your life plays out. Unfortunately, that’s partly true. To be honest, this business is full of waiting around for any audition to come your way just to hope and pray that you book the job. And to be fair, booking a job has to do with a lot more than just talent, so you can’t let it faze you when you don’t book something. All you really have control over is the kind of person you wanna be. You can either be the person who does nothing but wait around for their dream role to come around and hope that you get it, or you can find something that you do have control over. I don’t know about you, but life is way too short to wait around. This is exactly the reason why I wanna start teaching. Being a teacher means I can have full control over my classes, and no one can tell me otherwise. Especially now that I finished school super early and can work as an adult, I’ve really been focusing on making things happen for myself. I’m still training daily, and I’m not gonna lie, I feel burnt out constantly. It’s tough, sometimes I feel like I just don’t wanna dance, but I keep pushing through. When you hit that moment where you feel like giving up and quitting, that’s when you need to push yourself harder than you ever have before. That’s the only way you can ever grow. Remembering that has gotten me through tons of dead ends.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
