Hi Cary, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My dad is the reason I got into music he is in the music business with a star on Hollywood walk of fame the group is called the Chi-Lites
With number one hits.
I moved to California in the early 80s to follow his footsteps and meet prodeje in the mid 80d and we started making music and eventually became a group called South-Central Cartel and was the first west coast group to sign to Def jam records and sign by Russell Simmons ceo
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it was not a smooth road the music industry is very comparative it the early part of my career we had to out work every one to get recognized by record company’s our first deal was with russ Reagan at Quality records russ Reagan was one of two record executives who sold over a billion record
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do it all .rap produced record promotion and developed talent in my 35 plus years
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
It really in a bad direction because of streaming it had made it harder for artists to generate profit from music
