Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Sharp.
Carrie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had a passion for teaching a young age. I enjoyed the creative side to it, as well as being able to connect with children and families on a daily basis. My mother was also a teacher which gave me tons of inspiration and insight into the education system. I taught Kindergarten-3rd grade for several years before becoming mom. It worked out best for my family that I stay home with our girls and take some time off teaching. Fast forward five years later and here we all are, teaching our kids at home! In the last few months, I found myself diving back into creating and planning lessons for my kids that would be engaging and fun for them. I always believed that lessons accompanied by a project or hands-on activity were the most memorable and effective for children. My desire to share these activities with other families turned into an Instagram page that I really just viewed as a hobby.
In time, my followers and friends were asking for help with materials or telling me they didn’t have time to get organized, which is what sparked this entire project. I began creating educational kits with all necessary materials included, so the teaching could be easy for parents and the learning exciting for kids! It has given me an opportunity to feel like a teacher again, while also connecting me with not only my local community but parents and children all over the country.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been an interesting road, thats for sure! This all started on a whim, so I am learning as I go. I luckily have some amazing friends and family that have given me very useful advice on details of running a business such as creating a website, shipping, social media, etc. I do have to say that the most challenging aspect so far is transitioning from stay-at-home mom to now stay-at-home working mom. Finding the time to create the activities, bring them to life, put them together, sell them, ship and deliver, all while trying to keep the same routines and expectations as a mom is something I will slowly get used to and figure out. I love being able to share this with my family and my kids are enjoying seeing their friends and peers learning from the activities that they’ve inspired me to create.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Peachy Bear Kids – what should we know?
Peachy Bear Kids is an educational company offering activity bundles for at-home learning. The bundles include kits that are designed with both children and parents in mind. I wanted to create an experience that puts a smile on everyone’s face while also bringing developmental and academic skills to the table. The bundles are geared toward children ages 3 to 6 years and can be made more challenging or modified depending on each child’s abilities. The specific activities cover math, literacy, science, art, fine motor skills, sensory development, and more. Each activity is in its own package which creates a sense of wonder and excitement before the lesson even begins! I find the product to be extra special because each activity is designed with hands-on learning in mind. It’s art projects, reusable activities, games, and tools that will continue to be helpful down the road.

Overall, my family has played a huge role in helping this project come to life. My husband has stayed up late putting bundles together, my kids are supporting me as I take on a bit of a new role, and they have all joined me delivering packages or picking up new materials. I also have a sister who has given me excellent business advice and plenty of friends with little kids that I can bounce ideas off of. I’m finding myself extremely motivated and inspired by the messages I receive thanking me for creating a product that has really helped at home.
