Meet Caroline Denis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline denis.

Hi Caroline, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My travels around the world gave me the opportunity to see what could be done in terms of sustainability and natural beauty. Those subjects always fascinated me. Each culture has its own particularity. I always loved to learn about the benefits of ancient remedies and natural ingredients. When I arrived in the US, I immediately wanted to create a natural and organic skincare brand with products crafted from raw materials, free from harmful chemicals and Parabens to have something that completely complies with my values. It makes a world of difference to our skin as well as to our planet. Nature has given us potential resources which work in harmony with our bodies, making us feel and look more beautiful. I also believe in transparency – honest ingredient listing to enable consumers to make an informed choice. At the beginning, I started formulating in my kitchen and running tests on myself, family and friends. It was such a great time. I loved blending oils, smelling the different plants extracts and researching each ingredient’s virtue.

From there, one of my favorite parts of the process has been to develop my website and create the design of the brand, the packaging and the boxes. I always love the artistic part of a project and have deep appreciation for beautiful elements that work in harmony. I take at heart minimalism and simplicity in my way to see the world. Running the company by myself allows me to invest my time in all those areas and to be in perfect balance with my vision.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would not say a smooth road. Arriving in a new country by itself can be challenging. Launching a new company alone at the same time definitely breaks you a sweat from time to time. The hardest part for me has been to get accustomed with the US laws and requirements. Not having your friends, connexions and known culture surrounding you can be challenging.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Hopefully, you will find more than only a skincare line: a new way of taking care of yourself.

What were you like growing up?
We can say that I was a dreamer. Always on the go, looking for new adventures, new places to explore. I loved to leave for the day in the woods or countryside, look for treasures. I remember also being attracted to skincare at a very young age. I often came back from my expeditions with a new perfume or ‘lotion’ made with rainwater – mud and leaves that I would happily and proudly offer to my parents. During winter, I would spend more time inside drawing or painting. I had the chance to follow classes at the art academy and to discover about different techniques that I still use today.
