Meet Carmen and Luis Uribe of A Greener Tomorrow in Culver City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen and Luis Uribe.

Carmen and Luis, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We have come along way! Luis and I are actually high school sweethearts which met in 1994. We both come from a long line of thriving gardeners. When we got married in 1998, Luis already had an established gardening business with his father. I was a flower department clerk at our local Lucky Supermarket at the time.

After careful thought and given our background Luis wanted to go to the next level and became a licensed C27 contractor. Upon his father retiring Luis and I joined forces and rebuilt a whole new company and incorporated in 2006 under A Greener Tomorrow Inc. I then furthered my education and passion for landscaping and became a professional landscaping designer and the rest is history! We now have three adult children which are taking up on the love for the industry. Our son Luis is in charge of overseeing project timelines and operations, our daughter Bella is currently attending her 2nd year at Cal Poly Pomona pursuing her degree in landscaping architecture and our youngest son David currently attends CCHS and inputs two days of cad work design for us. He intends to pursue a degree in architecture at the University of Texas. With over 20 years of experience and our passion for landscaping we have been able to remain in business and grow successfully.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
A Greener Tomorrow has been through a winding road to get to where we are and to remain here. From droughts, wildfires, recessions, depressions and lately the nasty Covid 19 virus. Our trade is severely affected by climate and by environmental impacts and we always have to be on our toes and ready to make changes accordingly. Everyday, every week nothing remains the same which gives us that edge to stay on top of our game.

Please tell us about A Greener Tomorrow Inc.
Our company is dedicated to creating beautiful landscape settings for private residences and commercial businesses too. From the design phase, all the way to the actual installation process. We also continue to provide general residential and commercial landscaping upkeep on a weekly and biweekly basis using the latest equipment, best practices and being environmentally responsible. Our company sets apart from the rest because everything is done in house so there is never any miscommunication. The designer and the contractor are one unit and nothing is ever subcontracted. We are very proud to say that we have been voted the Best Of Culver City three years in a row which is a major accomplishment.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If we had to start all over again, we would have done everything the same way that we did. The only thing we would have done differently was to start sooner! We have no regrets and we honestly can’t think of anything we could have done differently.

Pricing:

  • All of our landscaping designs are $250 and fully credited upon booking the job.
