Meet Carly Paige

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Paige.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m a 22-year-old, artist-songwriter living in West Hollywood. I grew up in Arizona, and at about 12 or 13 years old, I started taking trips out here for writing sessions. Finally made the move about three and a half years ago after graduating high school and signing with Third and Verse Music Publishing.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m absolutely in love with songwriting. It’s some kind of high for me. Music is so wildly important to my everyday, it gets me through the highs and lows. When I’m writing, I try to be as honest as possible, and the process is honestly very therapeutic for me. On the other hand, I write hoping that someone will hear it and relate and that maybe it’ll bring them some type of comfort too. I truly believe music is the soundtrack to the events in our lives and the emotions we feel, so if I can tap into something someone is feeling and make them feel seen or heard, that’s what it’s all about to me.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Being an artist (and a writer) can be very lonely. It’s tough to meet people, but going to shows like Monday Monday or Writer’s Block (two songwriter showcases held at the Hotel Cafe) is a great way to network and meet people who are doing what you’re doing, going through the same things you are, etc. I think at the end of the day, it’s really about putting yourself out there, introducing yourself to people, and just going for it.

Reaching out to artists you admire and want to work with on social media is always a “why not” move. If they don’t reach back, no harm, no foul, but if they do, you can create real relationships. I can’t count the number of people I’ve connected with and now have in my life through Instagram.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can find all of my releases on any streaming service (e.g. Apple Music, Spotify, etc.). I’ve currently only released two personal singles, but have also featured on a handful of EDM songs over the last few years. I’ve also been getting back into performing live, just acoustically as of now, but if you follow me on Instagram, I post whenever I’m playing out. Feel free to come hang and listen. I’m in the process of finishing my first EP. Should be out by the end of the year, and I’m so beyond excited to share it with the world.
