Carl, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey in health and wellness began eight years ago when my first 5 day juice cleanse turned into a 15 day juice cleanse and I lost 23 pounds. Since then I’ve lost another 25 pounds and I went on to become a certified Holistic Nutritionist. I’ve worked with the best naturopathic doctors of our time, learning how to deeply detoxify the body and naturally treat root causes of health issues. Adopting a mostly raw, plant based lifestyle has enabled me to maintain vibrant health for the past eight years. My passion has always been to help others heal themselves through sharing my nutrition knowledge and actually living the lifestyle I teach about. My latest passion is developing the highest quality and most effective natural supplements through my company, Leefy Organics.
Our story is quite unique. It all started two years ago when my mother began getting severe mucus congestion in her throat. At first we thought it was a standard cold or flu but over time it became so bad that she had difficulty breathing or sleeping. We tried all of the medications, went to some of the best doctors and nothing was helping. The doctors said it was related to old age and that there was nothing they could do except for a very risky surgery. Since the doctors had no solution, the race was on to find a natural remedy. I began giving her anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric and ginger, which seemed to provide some relief. After lots of research and formulations, the real breakthrough came when I discovered how to solve the body’s absorption issues with turmeric. Within minutes of first trying the new formula, which would later be known as Prana, her symptoms completely vanished! Every time she had a mucus attack, Prana quickly came to the rescue. Aside from helping her congestion issues, it also gave her energy, mental clarity, relief from joint pain and tremendous cardiovascular benefits for someone who cannot do much physical exercise.
My mother urged me to start producing Prana for the millions of people who are suffering like she was from various health problems. That’s when Leefy Organics was born. Fast forward to today, and thousands of people have shared testimonials of how Prana has changed their lives. I named it Prana because it helps restore one’s vital life force when no longer dealing with the likes of daily aches and pains. After coming up with the name, I realized that my mother’s name, Rana, was unknowingly in the word Prana! I feel incredibly honored and grateful that this powerful, natural medicine is helping so many others like it helped my mother.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Initially I was hesitant to take the first step and start the business. I faced the typical apprehensions that most entrepreneurs deal with early on. Wait for the right time, maybe someone else is already doing this, what if it doesn’t work out, etc. The biggest challenge is always taking those first steps and learning to fall in love with the process!
Prana has been a big hit since we first launched and our current challenge is keeping up with rapid business expansion. Our social media presence has taken on it’s own momentum with influencers. We are currently focused on increasing our production capabilities and formulating new products.
