Meet Carina La Dulce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carina La Dulce.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m is a singer and author of Russian origin with Gypsy and Spanish roots, performing my own works in a vast array of genres, from Flamenco to Latin, Jazz to World Music. I performed in many different projects, every one of them was an amazing experience for my musical career.

Traditional Spanish Flamenco with the dancer Jonathan Sanchez Fernandez in his two shows “Flamenco: Inside and Outside” and “Picasso” and Spanish Dance Theater in an incredibly beautiful flamenco-ballet show “Romeo & Juliet”. Brazilian, African and Cuban music with the World Music orchestra “Sambateria”. Old Spanish Songs and Sephardic music with outstanding classical guitarists Artyom Dervoed and Grigory Baranov, with whom we’ll soon release an album “Andalusia”.

Since 2017 I became a part of Gypsy Fusion Duo together with a guitar virtuoso and a member of the famous Romani (Gypsy) artistic dynasty Sasha Kolpakov. We perform original songs as well as hits from around the world, all in a unique Gypsy Fusion style.

You can check out our video of a Balkan-Gypsy song “Shukarije” that is going viral on the Internet. Last year I won a special jury prize of one of the largest flamenco festivals ¡Viva España! The jury consisted of the outstanding flamenco artists Montsé Cortés, José Fernández Petete and Rafaella Carrasco.

I’m touring Europe and CIS countries with concerts in such big halls as the House of Music, Crocus City Hall, and the Estrada Theater among others. I was invited as a special guest performer for officials of Russia and Spain. I have participated in a variety of music festivals, including the largest international festival Usadba Jazz.

Please tell us about your art.
I am very interested in traditional cultures, especially in Romani (Gypsy) culture. The long journey of the Roma began many centuries ago since they left the Indian lands. In each country the Roma became part of the local culture, interpreted it in their own way and created something new very special, I am going the similar way from India to Africa looking for the place to stop and never stopping. I just trying to feel the main thing, to find the root that makes the traditional music so charmful, catchy and elusive and transmit it in my own way for the people who live in a modern world and who feel the same passion for the life.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
For me, the most important thing is the possibility to share with the people what I need to say. So I’m a very successful artist because I always had this chance. If it will be more people listening to me and I will create my music with the same freedom it will be the greatest success that could be in the artist’s life.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can see my work and more information about me on my web page. Also I’m actively posting many interesting videos and photos on my pages in Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram,

The best support of my work is an answer from my listeners. You are welcome to be a part of my art following my new works and visiting my concerts!
