Meet Jeffrey Klein and Freddie Baccari of Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Klein and Freddie Baccari.

Jeffrey and Freddie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our resumes are a long list of odd jobs and careers, but have ultimately led to where we are now as franchisees and business partners. Before I (Jeff) got into franchising, which is what I do full-time now, I was in sales. I joined the franchise industry first as an investor, and then decided to turn it into my career. One store eventually turned into two and then into many more – in different states nonetheless!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It most definitely has not been a smooth road. But anyone’s path, especially when they reach success, rarely is. In fact, usually the people who struggle the most at the beginning are those most successful at the end. They aren’t afraid to take risks, and have made mistakes that helped them learn and grow. Some people are luckier and don’t go through that rough patch – but I think the path we’ve had has helped shape who we are as businessmen.

Please tell us about Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop.
Founded in 1976, Capriotti’s is an award-winning sandwich shop that remains true to its 40 year tradition of slow-roasting whole, all natural turkeys in-house every day.

Capriotti’s fresh ingredients, homemade subs and unique menu items have won numerous accolades, including being named one of the “10 Great Places for a Surprising Sandwich” by USA Today. Capriotti’s cold, grilled and vegetarian subs, cheese steaks and salads are available at 100 locations in 18 states and federal districts across the U.S. And while Capriotti’s is best known for The Bobbie, which includes our signature turkey, cranberries, homemade stuffing and a hint of mayonnaise on a freshly baked roll, all of Capriotti’s ingredients are fresh and stand apart from competitors.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Character is the most important attribute to anyone’s success.

Being transparent, doing the right thing and honesty are key values that every person who wants to succeed should have.

Without those qualities, you won’t get far, and if you do, it won’t be for long.
