Today we’d like to introduce you to Cap’n Jim Cirile.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I founded Blackbeard for Men in 2012, when I discovered a wintry forest creeping into my dashing pirate goatee. I tried dyeing and it didn’t work for me. It was a time-consuming, arduous application process, and then only a few days later my gray roots were showing. Plus, after a few applications I started getting terrible skin irritation. I figured there had to be a better way. So I envisioned a new type of beard color that brushed on quickly and easily with no skin irritation. And after much research and testing with our manufacturer, we came upon our now patented, unique beard color formula called Blackbeard for Men Formula X. We’re overjoyed that we’re helping pirates the world over get their beards back from the dread scourge of gray.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We are in the fortunate position of having a product that actually helps improve people’s lives. Hence the road has been fairly smooth, since our customers recognize the value of the product, and many of them share similar stories to my own.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There have been many. We were very proud to be a cosponsor of Beardcon, with proceeds benefiting prostate cancer research.
