Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Wakefield.
Candace, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started in church, singing in the choir and doing solos. I have a family of singers, from my grandmother to my parents my whole family sings. My first professional industry job was working with Omarion and Marques Houston. I had various opportunities after that singing for various artists through my career. Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Kendrick Lamar, Fantasia, babyface, TlC, Faith Evans, Shanice, Keyshia Cole, 6lack and more. From then on, I flourished into the artist and entrepreneur I am today.
Writing on #1 billboard albums and singing on grammy award-winning records. I released my first album titled 1993 Camaro (The Journey) written and recorded in my car. This is an album true to heart. Sharing my ups and downs in hopes that it will inspire the world.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not. It can get very discouraging on the road to success. You’ll face many no’s. Many people who may not understand your vision and possibly want to change it. It’s important to stay consistent. Always be yourself. Some of my struggles along the way were not having the proper support, I’ve also dealt with industry attitudes and my character was tested many times.

I am proud of being a 5x grammy award-winning vocalist. Creating music that heals and helps those not to give up. Being vulnerable enough to share my story so that someone else will share theirs.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Daily growth is what I focus on. I hope and pray one day I’ll grow to be able to reach the world but if not whoever I reach, I am happy with just that.
