Meet Camie Llano of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camie Llano.

Hi Camie , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Camie Llano, I was born and raised in Colombia with two huge passions, both equally as important; music and acting, and I guess I was the official black sheep of the family because I was the only was with artistic tendencies and dreams. But I as grew older and my talent developed more, they noticed I was serious, so as soon as I finished high school, off I went into the big apple, I studied at the very prestigious Lee Strasberg institute… Best two years of my life so far. After I graduated I moved to Los Angeles, where I struggled with horrible anxiety for the first year… I never really knew what was the exact reason, but I guess I just felt lost and overwhelmed and had just very high expectations. But then I discovered the power of nature and how healing and inspired it made me feel. After a long period of being stuck and completely unproductive, I began writing, writing songs, LOTS of songs. shortly after I met who would become one of my best friends, mentor, producer and guardian angels, “Beto” an incredibly talented musician… We started of as just friends who shared the same dreams, but quickly it escalated into working together, and him becoming my producer. He’s always been one of my biggest supporters and really believes in me. This was the beginning go my career as a singer, since then, I have released over 8 songs on Spotify, and the journey has just begone, we still have a long way to go but I feel like I’m living the dream, having performed in amazing venues including The Gibson Showroom. Simultaneously I have not left my acting career, I was very lucky to have been part of an independent feature film, where landed multiple nominations and awards. again the story is just starting, but I’m enjoying every second of it and feel truly blessed to have so many talented and wonderful people around me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely NOT been smooth, with many bumps on it, the biggest of course, myself. after so much competition and NO’s, you can become your biggest enemy and you self sabotage… So I’m still learning how to deal with that, and use the dark times as a way to learn and grow, a way to create and reflect. As artist we tent to overthink and overanalyse everything, and that can be overwhelming, So I’m trying to accept, appreciate, and keep moving forward no matter what.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m currently developing my professional carrer as a performer, singer/songwritter and an actress. I also love to collab with other artists and help with their creative work. Additionally, I’m trying to get into screen writing and I’m currently writing two scripts in hopes to make them into feature films in the near future. To be honest I’m proud of everything, even the smallest achievement has given me great hoy and fulfilment. What sets me apart from other I would say it’s my unmatched imagination, my magical world I go to when I’m feeling anxious and detached, I think that’s what makes me a good actress, I can get into any situation I want and really be in it, really see it. It’s my happy place, my meditation.

Ohhhhh yeah!! First and foremost, Beto Vargas, he needs all the credit I can give! I would not be where I am today without his believe, his tough love, and the biggest support. Then I have to thank all my friends, Amalia Santa Maria, Valentina Jaramillo, Jorchual, Manolo Rodriguez and of course Santiago Fierro. They all have helped me in unimaginable ways, making g music videos, photoshoots, make up etc etc. and are also my biggest supporters. My mom for always encouraging me, my dad for helping finance a big portion of my career, and my boyfriend for always being there.
