Meet Cameron Cloud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Cloud.

Cameron, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started shooting professionally around eight years ago in Austin, Texas, and I’ve been an artist all my life. I shoot everything from live music and skating events to portraits, headshots, fashion, and album artwork.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but I’ve definitely learned a lot over the past eight years. I was pretty well-established in Austin, but having only recently moved to Los Angeles, one of the biggest challenges is getting my name out there.

Additionally, I’ve been trying to narrow down the kind of work that I do so that I only say yes to the projects that truly excite me. In the past, when I’ve said yes to almost everything, I’ve ended up spreading myself too thin.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I specialize in artistic photographs, with an emphasis on light/dark and imagery and symbolism. I shoot live events, as well as album and ad photography, among other things.

What sets me apart from other photographers is that all of my photos encapsulate my specific vision and artistic eye. I’m very much inspired by light, dark, geometry, and mystical symbolism. This comes through in all of my work.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Along with hard work, luck has played a role in my success so far. For example, I recently woke up to a call from a friend who needed a photographer for a gig that very same day. It turned out to be a project for a world-renowned artist and one of my proudest accomplishments to date.
