Today we’d like to introduce you to Camaryn Hope.
Hi Camaryn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
From what I remember, at the age of 6, I first got my inspiration from “Fallin” by Alicia Keys. I didn’t quite understand what love was, but I would pretend to be her with my head leaning on the school bus window mimicking the same scene as she did with her head leaning on the window in her music video, singing with my headphones in my ear (who knows how I sounded at that age or how loud I was lol). Immediately after, around Halloween I chose to be a “Super Star” and I had a fake headworn microphone as if I just did a whole show.
Seeing Tia or Tamara (can’t remember which twin) from the show “Sister Sister” do an acapella version of “Time on my hands” lifted my heart and I knew right then and there I wanted to be a superstar. It didn’t help that I have two older siblings that would make me follow their choreography and/or be the background singer/harmonizer for the girl group that we were mimicking to perform for our parents on the weekends.
Growing up, I have been inspired by a plethora of artists and musicians. The technicalities of each realm of music is insanely intriguing and I just knew I had to be a part of it. I not only have a love for music, but even most importantly I have love for all people. There is no music without us humans and our experiences that we feel, see, taste, hear or smell. My movement and intention has always been pure and through music, I hope to move mountains and inspire as large of an audience that God assigns me to reach.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My most challenging obstacle would definitely being able to master the art of balancing my time with work, family, leisure, and music. I come from a very strong, loving family and sometimes I have to make sacrifices and not be able to make it to every family event.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for those of you just starting out is to get to know the LAW of music and study and observe the experiences you are given. Take notes/journal after every meeting, studio sesh, etc. Also, remember to always try your best to stay open-minded and be receptive to other creatives, have GREAT energy, and make sure that if there’s something in your gut that is telling you something, listen to it!!!
