Today we’d like to introduce you to Cake Bash.
Cake Bash, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Chef Karla and I are sisters born and raised in Puerto Rico. Karla has years working in the restaurant business in our hometown. After years of being apart, I asked her why we didn’t get together to start our own business here in California which I already resided. We jump-started our venture with the YouTube channel which gave us a platform to market ourselves way before we could get a storefront. We started building a following so we build our presence online and started doing only custom orders there. In the meantime, I was looking for a place where we could set our store. We did a small pop up for two months with great feedback. After a year online, we were able to open our store. Now, our store is turning two years old.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve had a pretty smooth road thus far. Of course, there are difficulties along the way but that’s part of creating something and building a dream from the ground up. Some of the difficulties were establishing your business in a new market, learning the legalities about opening a store, etc. We always stayed focused.
Please tell us about Cake Bash Studio.
We are a from-scratch bakery. We specialize in everything custom; cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc. One of the things that sets us apart is that we’ve been able to accomplish both great flavors and design. Most of our clients highlight that. Especially mastering the process of achieving custom cakes with short notice. We also pride ourselves on great customer service; creating an easy process from request to delivery for our customers. We just had a customer come in on Saturday wanting a Sponge Bob cake for later on the same day. We were able to deliver for him the same day fully design with 3D fondant figurine topper cake in a matter of hours. His last-minute request looked like a well thought out cake. What makes us the proudest of our company is that our foundation is love. We are a family business, we care for each other, for what we do, what we offer and who we offer it to. We love that we are given the opportunity of being part of our client’s most memorable moments so we take it to heart.
What are your plans for the future? What are you looking forward to or planning for – any big changes?
We are planning on expanding. Offering our clients more from our brand. Right now we are about to launch our e-commerce website where our customers will be able to purchase our treats, merchandise, classes, etc. in the near future we are looking to franchise a concept store under the Cake Bash Studio umbrella.
