Meet Caitlin V

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin V.

Hi Caitlin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Before I became a sex coach and YouTuber I was a professional sexual health researcher and policy analyst. I published papers, delivered samples to the chlamydia lab, tested lubes on myself and lots more than I can’t even talk about. But the higher I got in academia, the further I felt from my mission of helping people have better sex.

When I was 15 years old, I knew my calling in life had to do with sexuality. I was so disgusted by the pleasure-negative information we were being taught in school. Why didn’t we address the reason that people have sex to begin with? Because it feels good. Because it helps us connect. Because we evolved to do it. Because for many people it is primary source of creativity and pleasure in their life. When we look at sex from a pleasure-negative, disease-focused tense, we miss the entire point.

When I realized my career in research was no longer contributing to my larger mission, I dropped out. I started my coaching business in 2015 and was soon featured in a friend’s YouTube video on the internet favorite subject–squirting. The video quickly earned millions of views, jump starting my coaching career and launching me to internet stardom. I started my own channel shortly after and now have over 430,000 subscribers and more than 50 million views.

Since launching I’ve found a lot of joy working with men on their sexuality. Unfortunately, very few people are focused on men at a time where they need a lot of help. Masculinity and eroticism are evolving and for the better, but the men of today are sometimes at a loss. They want to do their best but they’re wrestling with the influences of their fathers and grandfathers, the rise of internet porn, and the changing landscape of consent. It’s a lot and they’re doing their best. It’s been an honor to work with them over the last few years.

Today my work is evolving once more to focus on couples. I was recently featured in a TV show that will be released in this spring, and it’s all about couples working together to improve their sex lives. What I like most about working with couples is their dedication. Partnership can be both comforting and confronting in equal measure. Many modern couples recognize that their romantic partner is the most powerful mirror for where they need to heal and grow. And nowhere is that more visible than in the bedroom. It’s hard work but for the couples who are willing to do it, the payoff is immeasurable.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Along the way I’ve faced many challenges, many of which will be familiar to people working at the cutting edge. I’ve had many online accounts shut down for alleged “terms of service” violations because I talk about sex. Our culture, especially tech, is still extremely sex-negative. Many apps and platforms consider talking or educating about sex to be the equivalent of pornography or prostitution. I’ve grown two TikTok accounts to massive followings only to have them shut down. That’s why I’m mostly on YouTube. Of all the social media platforms, YouTube is the most open in terms of sex education (at least for now).

The other struggle I’ve faced is just meeting the tremendous need. There’s such an enormous lack of quality sexual education. And notice I didn’t say sexual health education (although there’s a lack there too). I mean after the conversation about pregnancies and STIs, there’s so much more about sex to discuss! I believe a great sex life is possible for all folks no matter what and that it’s worth pursuing. Many people are willing to pick up a book about how to fix a car or even tend to a relationship, but many of us still live with the idea that sex is something that should come naturally. Or that, if we’re with the right person, it won’t require any effort. It’s simply not true. That is like saying just because you have access to food means you should automatically know how to eat properly. So many people come to me every day, leaving comments, asking questions, wanting support. It’s a struggle because I’m just one person (with an amazing team) but we need more people like me, with visible brands, talking about sex freely.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Me and my team offer education and coaching on sex and sexuality. We have a YouTube channel, http://youtube.com/caitlinv and an Instagram @caitlinvictoriousx where we provide free content. Most of our content is targeted towards men who want to get better as sex, but there’s plenty of useful content for women and non-binary folks who want to experience more pleasure and satisfaction as well.

As a coach, I am especially known for working with premature ejaculation, which is extremely common and affects about 1 in 3 men. Men who want to last longer in bed and gain ejaculation control are frequently treated with prescription drugs or numbing creams, neither of which gets to the actual root of the problem. I developed my own protocol after working with these men for years and it is 98% effective at helping them beat premature ejaculation, overcome performance anxiety, and develop stamina. I’m extremely proud of it and the 6,000+ men (more if you count YouTube) who have used my system to get better and last longer in bed.

I also have a men’s group coaching program where we discuss all things sex and sexuality, share tips and techniques, and I coach men on their love lives. It’s been my proudest accomplishment to become a female leader of a men’s group and to be trusted by so many men with their most intimate lives. Every time I speak to my group, I’m left speechless at the vulnerability, courage, and bravery that these men commit to improving their sex and relationships.

What’s next?
First of all, I can’t wait for my show to air! It’s going to be such a game changer and I hope it puts sex coaching on the map! After that, I’ll see where things take me. I’ll either be working with couples in a bigger capacity or training the next generation of sex coaches on my methods. Probably both. My dream is that all people see that getting help in the bedroom is a vital piece of living your best, healthiest, most optimized life.
