Today we’d like to introduce you to Cadogan Price.
Cadogan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
At an early age, I had an art tutor that I met every Tuesday to create new ideas using pastels, acrylics and many other mediums. As I grew older, I fell into a career in the corporate world working as a sales and operations executive in the media industry selling software. A little over five years ago, I began to question my future in this industry. I wanted to get back in touch with what makes me tick, my creative energy. In an effort to re-find myself, I went to night school for interior design. In a few short weeks, I came to the conclusion that interior design was not for me. Nevertheless, this experience did re-engage me with the creative community and a short period of time after that, the introduction to my business partner, Monika Kopeng. Monika and I share a vision for the fashion industry, and after a year of due diligence, CADOGAN was born.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When we launched the business it was based on intuition and passion. We love what we were creating and were excited to share our ideas with the world. Maybe a little overly excited, because we created a product portfolio that extended over eleven different product verticals and thirty-six SKUs. With this in mind, we created a fantastic product, but there was clear room for improvement. As different data started to be filtered from different touchpoints it was clear that we needed to leverage this data to take action to focus our business. With the help of this data, we have been able to re-align ourselves with the correct manufactures, price points and go to market strategy. Coming this September we will be re-launching with only tees and jackets. It has been a learning experience over 18 months with many highs as well as lows, but a journey we are grateful for. These experiences along the way are now part of the DNA of our brand and are clearly reflected in our latest product.

We are a menswear label focused on creating great staple garments with an edge. Today our portfolio consists of leather jackets and designer tees. We are most known for our fabric choices. Our jackets are dynamic, coupling hints of suede with leather. Our jackets stand out from the crowd because of the details and quality satin lining. In a world where most jackets black leather jackets come lined in black polyester, we have elevated the leather jacket by lining our designs with red Italian satin or navy Italian satin. In regards to our tees, we focus on fit and comfort. We specialize in using highly breathable and stretchable fabrics that perform well throughout the year. In our tees, you get the benefits of athletic wear with shine and fabrication complexity of designer menswear.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could change one key pillar of our story, it would have been the energy portrayed in our imagery when we went to market. We focused on a classic menswear look with stoic facial features. We have transitioned to a high energy smile, composure, and quiet confidence. The new imagery is magnetic.
