Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Herrera.
Vincent, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am originally from New Jersey. I began my start in photography back in 2004 in the automotive industry. As I progressed I started to work with models by 2010. Networking and being part of the import scene, I eventually moved out to California with my friend to help build a marketing agency called Kolab by 2011 and today I feel successful and privileged to work with some of the best talents around.
Has it been a smooth road?
There have been many bumps in the road since moving to California. One case is that the photography industry is over saturated here and it was hard to compete. I soon realized I didn’t need to compete, but focus more on networking and establishing my life here in Cali.
What were you like growing up?
I am the youngest child out of my family. I wasn’t gifted anything and everything. I was shy. By high school I broke out of my shell more and that’s when I started going to different shows. This is where I started networking and got introduced to photography.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I never had a single favorite memory, but all of my favorite memories consists of time spent with my family.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Future plans are still establishing my name here on the west coast as a photographer. I want to create and master a style no one has done, but with that comes time and research.
