Bryana Ryan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Once upon a time, I was scrolling on my Facebook feed and an Ad displayed that was selling an 30 Day Course About How To Grow And Scale Your Business To $1M+ Using Facebook Ads by two marketing experts named Rudy Mawer and Tia Lopez, and I immediately pulled out my credit card and purchased it for only $39! I couldn’t believe it was only $39. The value, lessons and systems were worth 10x the $39 price point and I was hooked by the offer, positioning and brand image that was being presented to me (in the marketing industry, we call this a low ticket offer). At the time, I had a micro-social media marketing agency that I was striving to figure out how to build and this was exactly what I needed.
A few months later, another ad popped up on my Facebook feed, and there was Rudy Mawer again—speaking directly into the camera, inviting business owners to fly out to his Clearwater, FL office for a weekend. He and his team would help us build out our businesses, funnels, Facebook ads, and more. The marketing pros would call this a retargeting tactic. The price tag was hefty, but I knew that to truly succeed in the business world, I had to invest in my growth. A few weeks later, I boarded a plane and visited the Tampa Bay area for the first time, instantly falling in love with the city. At the event’s close, Rudy pitched an intensive one-year mastermind focused on scaling businesses, complete with weekly Zoom support and four in-person events where hundreds of entrepreneurs from around the world would gather to learn from each other. I took the plunge and signed up. Three weeks later, I moved to Tampa, and I’ve called it home ever since.
After nine months in Rudy’s mastermind, an operations position opened up at one of his partner brands, Referral Wave. I became the COO, and we scaled the business to $1 million within a year, learning invaluable lessons along the way. During that time, I also had the chance to work closely with the Paid Ads King, Jason Wojo, gaining hands-on experience at his $8 million agency, where I helped manage paid ads, funnels, and social media campaigns for his clients.
Fast forward to today Sept 2024, I have spent over $3 million in meta ads campaigns for clients, which has included rigorous testing, optimization and overall huge wins in helping clients generate more leads, sales and profit within their business. This is how my current marketing agency, Profitable Spice, was born.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a lead generation agency, like any entrepreneurial venture, has had its share of ups and downs. Initially, the challenge was gaining the trust of clients. Lead generation is all about results, and when you’re just starting out, you don’t have a portfolio or reputation to fall back on. I had to hustle, build relationships, and over-deliver on every project to establish credibility.
Another significant challenge was navigating the constantly changing landscape of paid advertising platforms. Facebook, Google, and other platforms regularly update their algorithms, and what worked yesterday might not work today. Staying ahead of these changes required continuous learning, adaptability, and often, trial and error. Throw A.I. (artificial intelligence) in there and it’s a whole other ball game, but don’t worry – we pivoted and made sure to incorporate A.I. into our systems and offer.
Additionally, scaling the agency presented its own set of hurdles. Managing growth meant hiring the right talent, creating efficient systems, and ensuring that we didn’t compromise on quality as we took on more clients. There were times when I had to make difficult decisions, like letting go of clients or team members who didn’t align with our long-term vision.
Despite these challenges, each one was an opportunity to fine-tune our process, sharpen our expertise, and build a more resilient business. Today, those early struggles are what set us apart in the lead generation space — we don’t just survive the changes, we thrive because of them.

Emotional intelligence goes a long way. It’s important to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Building and nurturing relationships is everything in business and I truly feel like EI is vital in order achieve personal success overall.
