Meet Bruno Leandro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bruno Leandro.

Bruno, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started out as a fashion blogger almost 10 years ago. I watched all the different social media trends develop and evolve. Eventually, that served as a platform for me to transition to wardrobe styling, which is what I always wanted to do. I was a stylist for about 3 years. Even though I loved fashion and I believed that’s really what I was meant to do, I wasn’t happy. I started resenting it and started turning down jobs left and right and eventually, I realized this wasn’t for me.

I started looking for things to do that brought me joy. I always loved cooking but I never took it seriously. I started exploring that and really started to feel happiness again. I enrolled in culinary school and using my expertise in social media, I transitioned my brand into more “lifestyle but with an emphasis on food”. Since then, the reception of my change has been incredibly well received. I believe if you truly love and are happy doing something, it’ll show in how it is received. This served as a life lesson for me. Do what makes you happy!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Although it may not seem like it, most people are dealing with a lot of issues behind the Instagram curtain, if you will. I battled with depression for many years. It’s not something I openly speak about often, but people need to know that everyone out there goes through hard and then even harder times.

During the height of my depression, I felt like I was doing nothing with my life and I was a complete failure, everyone else was succeeding and I was falling behind.

Even though it seemed like I had everything together, lots of great opportunities coming my way, and everything was fun and exciting, it was quite the opposite. One of my favorite quotes is “tough times never last, but tough people do! by Robert H. Schuller. I eventually found solace in knowing that everyone journey is different and began trusting the process. While life still feels oftentimes feels unfair, I know that everything will be alright, just don’t give up!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
The journey to where I am now has been unique, to say the least. I love food and most of my thoughts revolve around food and eating. Taking pictures of food brings me a level of satisfaction that is probably unheard of. As an influencer who makes their living from this, I take it as seriously as I would any job.

I am proud of how far I have come and how I have helped blaze a trail for an industry that is still fairly new. People nowadays turn to social media for almost everything. I think my followers really appreciate seeing how I incorporate eating into my everyday life.

Everyone eats! That’s something we all have in common, worldwide. I love uniting people using food, especially nowadays more than ever.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
As I mentioned previously, everyone eats! Of course, there are certain cities and certain areas that are known for their culinary scene, but that’s the beauty of this industry. I don’t think you need to live in LA to do this. It is important to travel and experience the different culinary destinations the world has to offer.

There is nothing that compares to the feeling that you can get from the best plate of food you’ve ever had, wherever it may be in the world!
