Today we’d like to introduce you to Bruce J. Crispin DDS, MS.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Bruce J. Crispin DDS, MS. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been a dentist for 45 years and in 1999 I retired form UCLA after 23 years where I started the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry in 1989. It was the first of its kind in the US. I wanted more unrestricted freedom to develop my career so I developed Esthetic Professionals with my wife Vicky. Originally it was a small dental lab, my practice and a small room for education. Currently Esthetic Professionals is in a 16,000 sq. ft. facility in Tarzana.
My daughter Kristi A. Crispin DMD joined us and set up her practice in 2003 and my son Chad joined us in 2013 and became director of EP Laboratory and he developed EP Distribution Center.
Currently Esthetic Professionals houses the dental practices of Dr. Bruce and Kristi Crispin, the EP Dental Laboratory, the Esthetic Professionals Dental Education Center, and the EP Distribution center, In addition we own Exclusive Dental an insurance focused practice on our second floor. In the education center we specialize in hands-on and clinical dental education programs. We also provide low cost dentistry to patients in these education programs. The EP distribution center is a national leader in the sales and training of hi-tech Dental technology including CAD/CAM systems, digital scanners, printers, and many other dental products. We are also into product development and developed a unique dental retractor called the “Helping Hand”.
We are a very unique facility and we really are the “Total Dental Solution”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hard work and hardworking family plus business diversification have allowed us to succeed even in the economic down turn. The biggest struggle is to keep staff motivated and consistent
Esthetic Professionals – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I believe I answered this but I am most proud of the fact that we are a very unique and high end business in dentistry and we have done this without sellout paid endorsements like many other dental education centers and educators.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is going to work every day and excited to be there. I left UCLA after 23 years because I lost this feeling. I was a full professor and could have coasted but this is not my style. I like hard work and being progressive in dentistry and education.
