Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Simpson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brooke. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2017, I auditioned for NBC’s The Voice! I made it to the top 3 of season 13 and it was an incredible experience that gave me a bigger platform to share my music. Recently I have announced that I will be making my Broadway debut in the Diane Paulus revival of the Tony award-winning musical 1776! I will be portraying Founding Father Roger Sherman and the musical is set to run in the 2021-2022 season. I’m so honored to be a part of the incredible cast and crew involved and can’t wait for the world to see!
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been the easiest of roads for the path I’m on, but the most rewarding ones never are 🙂 I have had my share of obstacles and “almost gave up” moments as an artist and I still have them…But I’ve learned that I have to be my biggest fan. I have to believe in me when no one else does because that’s what pushes me. That and also knowing that when you are doing what you were created and made for, what’s meant for you is and will be yours 🙂
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a vocalist and an artist 🙂 I sing and have been doing it full time for about three years now. My latest single was Real Long Nails and I have more music coming your way VERY soon! At this very moment…My proudest achievement is broadway. It’s a whole new world for me but one that I have a deep respect and appreciation for. Also, another moment that I know I will remember forever is my hometown Hollister, North Carolina just put up its city sign and at the bottom of it, it says: “Home of Brooke Simpson from The Voice”. Of course, I live in Los Angeles now but to see that in the town where I was born and raised…I’m just so humbled and honored.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the creativity in LA! Everywhere I go and everyone I meet inspires me….but what I hate is THE TRAFFIC lol.
