Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Laurie Reenan.
Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been doing hair over 15 years but just recently opened my on space off 17th St. in Costa Mesa. Originally partnering with a local boutique Love and Whiskey, I started off small with 3 stations. After almost a year I doubled my space in the store to 6 stations and now less than 2 years later I have taken over the entire space, I also now offer a service called microblading as well as the other services in a full-service hair salon! I loved the addition that having a boutique brought to the salon, so now I am passionate about bringing in local artists and businesses, we host pop-ups frequently!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been smooth, the transition in my growing space from 3 -10 chairs was scary! Finding a tribe of like-minded and talented stylists will always be a struggle… But it’s a beautiful thing when we come together
We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Salty Blonde Cut Co, we strive to help our stylists and clients thrive in an encouraging and uplifting environment. As stylists, we want to help our clients realize their true inner beauty by bringing out their outer beauty even more! We are always sharing our new techniques and ideas with each other because we believe having a community where we feed off of each other’s creativity and uniqueness is important. In cosmetology, colors and techniques and trends are always changing so we work hard to stay current “in-the-know” about new things happening in the industry. We do that by holding monthly classes where we teach each other new techniques and by participating in fashion campaigns. Over all, Salty Blonde Cut Co’s main goal is for people to feel beautiful, have fun, and to be a place where creativity thrives!
What were you like growing up?
I always liked hair and makeup, and loved to chop my barbies hair style them in clothes and play, but what little girl doesn’t, right?!
