Meet Britney Robertson of Beachbabypics.com in Redondo Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Robertson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my business in 2012. I was a nanny before I started Beachbabypics. When I met my Fiancé, I asked if I could bring his camera with me to work. I spent so much time with the baby I wanted to take some cute pictures for mom and dad. I did just that! I remember Derek, my boyfriend at the time gave me a few pointers and off I went. I set up in their living room, which had beautiful natural light, and took a series of cute posed pictures. After delivering the images, mom called me to say the pictures made her cry. The next time I was over there she had them printed and framed in her home. From that moment, I knew this was what I wanted to do. Thinking ahead, I also knew this job would allow me to stay home and raise my kids one day. Now I’m expecting my own little beach baby, and I’m pretty sure with mom and dad as photographers this will be the most well documented baby in Redondo Beach!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is ever a smooth road! I’ve had to work very hard to be successful. I have had a lot of people tell me no. I’ve also had a lot of people who don’t believe in me, but more importantly what I DO HAVE is a wonderful support system. Most of all, I believe in myself. I’m not afraid to put myself out there. I do what I love, and I never give up.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beachbabypics.com – what should we know?
I am a photographer from Redondo Beach. I specialize in maternity, newborn, and family portraits. I’m known for my simple, sweet, newborn photography. My clients have the option to book an appointment at my home studio, or at their home. My home studio is most requested. I create a safe, clean, loving, warm environment for mom and dad to relax while I photograph baby. I’m most proud of my relationship with my clients. They are more like family. I offer a “first year package” that allows me to capture every 3 month milestone up to 12 months. This allows me to connect with mom and dad, and I have learned so much about parenting over the years. I feel very lucky. What sets me apart from others, is the fact that I will go above and beyond! If you spot me doing a session down at the beach, you may have seen me laying in the water completely soaked in order to get the shot! You will never get that moment back, so I’ve learned to just go for it!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My positive attitude, and the fact that I absolutely love what I do is the secret to my success.
