Meet Brian Moncure of Fortress Advisors Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Moncure.

Brian, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The actual name of the company is Fortress Advisors Group, established as a Limited Liability Company in 2003, with its core competency being digital media. However, the company has expanded into several different verticals over the past 15 years to include Salon Deluxe Los Angeles, located on Ventura Blvd in Studio City, and Reserved Entertainment in Los Angeles.

We started off with one website called Smacchat.com. The concept was simple, have a chat room specifically for every game in every sport where fans from each team could “cordially” discuss the game. At the time text messaging wasn’t so ubiquitous so we were the only game in town. The following of the site grew quickly and became the cornerstone of the company. From the growth of the Smacchat, we were able to develop other properties and expand our web presence. We currently have several owned and operated websites but now we focus on Men’s Interest and Women’s interest websites.

Currently, our most popular sites are Venusiansearch.com, GQLifestyle.net, with each site boasting 4.5 million views and 2.1 million views respectively last month. Our newest site, twentyfirstcenturyfitness.com launched in February, has already accumulated a strong following. Its premise is martial arts and fitness home instruction for the busy individual that doesn’t have time to go to a gym or dojo and train and just needs some guidance to complete his/her workout at home.

Has it been a smooth road?
Honestly, I don’t think it’s possible to achieve any substantial measure of success without some form of adversity and I have had several along my journey including market corrections, legislation and regulation changes, and unfavorable mergers. However the most challenging for me has always been finding the healthy balance between working hard and a healthy family life.

As a husband and father of two, the family has always been my top priority and not just as a provider but a positive Father and role model who is there for his family in person not just via a mobile device. Both my wife and I are very involved in every aspect of our children’s lives. I coach both little league and basketball, while Peggy volunteers at school. We have always been there for our children for everything from school functions to Saturday morning games.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Fortress Advisors Group – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
What sets Fortress Advisors apart is our commitment to surrounding our clients with best in media resources, particularly market knowledge, to help them reach their objectives. This can only be accomplished via execution and service.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have lived in Los Angeles since I was 17 and am one of the biggest LA proponents you will ever meet. What I like best about LA is the economic opportunity. There are maybe one or two other places in the world that can offer the economic potential that this city does, and nowhere else can you change professions later in life and maintain the standard of living.

The state of California has just surpassed the UK as the 5th largest economy in world and LA is a big reason for that. I love that you and your family have such a wide range of things too, from the beaches to world-class restaurants, theaters, nightlife, and a diversified culture.

What I dislike is what all Angelinos dislike, the traffic. But as we say, that’s part of doing business.
