Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Rios.
Hi Brenda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always done my best to be an ethical consumer. From recycled cotton tote bags for my grocery shopping to driving a hybrid car — I’ve try to incorporate environmentally-friendly products to my day-to-day as much as possible. I’m sure during the early days of the pandemic, we all spent a lot of time thinking about our futures like about what we will do now and in the next few years.
I thought about what impact I wanted to leave. As a proud dog mom of two Australian Shepherds, I had the idea of sustainable dog products. We all have a favorite eco-friendly product and we should have one for our dogs too.
Studio Tails is the result of that thought. We’re out to make dog gear from recycled materials and we’re giving back too!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve always believed there isn’t an easy road to a big achievement. Everything is a process. Whether you spent all day prepping for a presentation or trying to make the perfect cookie — everything is a process. Building and growing a business is the same.
I think the easiest part is starting and the hardest part is continuing on the path since it’s not a straight path. There’s been curveballs but the most important part is continuing even if you have to take a detour.
We’ve been impressed with Studio Tails, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Studio Tails, we are all about pawsitive vibes and eco-friendly products! We love our planet, our furry friends, and giving back. And hey, who said we have to compromise quality for sustainability? Not us!
Our dog gear is made from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which means we’re giving plastic bottles and containers a second life! Studio Tails is all about creating high-quality, durable gear that keeps up with your dog’s adventures.
We’re also proud to support organizations like ASPCA, The Ocean CleanUp Project, and local No Kill Shelters. We believe that every little step towards a better world counts!
Plastic is a pawblem, but we’re doing our part to reduce our pawprint. Our packaging is 100% eco-friendly with biodegradable bags, recycled paper, and organic hang tags. We take our commitment to sustainability seriously because every little bit counts!
What does success mean to you?
For me, success means fulfillment. Of course, we want to fulfill as many orders as possible, but personal fulfillment to me means being proud of the work I’m doing. Success is having a healthy work-life balance, a happy customer base and growing business. This is my personal definition of success.
